Gayle's Preschool Rainbow has some great ideas for activities you can do with your
preschooler. The website was designed by a teacher essentially with fellow
teachers in mind, but the activities can be translated to the home as well.

is a similar website. Typically these
activities require a group of children, but there is always the possibility of
getting together with other parents of preschoolers to share some quality
time...
Preschool Literacy Web
Homepage was created by
the University of Connecticut and has a lot of great links to activities and
also the theories behind them.
There are some great tips about how to make literacy part of
your daily life in the
Illinois Early
Learning Project.
Currently, the University of New Brunswick is working on a
curriculum document for preschool, which will be the first of its kind in North
America. The current version of this document is available on the internet and can be a great resource for teachers and parents alike.
The Edmonton school board has created a
Partners in Education website that is
geared specifically towards the parents' role in school. This is a great way to
get a feel for what will be expected once your child reaches the public school
system.
There is also a wonderful
Parents as Partners website that offers options
for children with exceptionalities of one kind or another. There are resources
and links to important websites that will help your child's transition to
school.
The Parents as Partners blog is
an interesting resource, which talks a little bit about theories of
literacy and the professional development side of the equation.
